I can see Angels
I can see them when sunlight filters through trees
And when the raindrops let loose a sigh
From the farmers arid lips
Angels linger in the smile of a child
That makes sacrifice easy to abide
And hardship just a summer breeze
I can see them when kindness mends spirits
Or invigorates a broken soul
And stars adorn a moonlit sky
To guide those who are lost and old
I see them in the miracle of love
And how it heals the heart, barely just
Before death can claim one whole.
I can see Angels though its’ hard to believe
That prayers are answered in everyday things.
As each day passes upon a distant tide
Just beyond one’s reach
Though despair and pain touch us all
Each murky night has its dawn
And new hope it always brings.
